Hawaii Farm Bureau sponsored FFA leaders at the National Association of Conservation Districts (NASDA) Conference in Kona last month. These aspiring young leaders hail from several islands including Maui (Angel Becerra, Lahainaluna High School), Hawaii (Mailei Bunmanglag, teacher Pahoa High School, Gernel Javier, student Pahoa High School, Mary Noble, student Pahoa High School, Romel Gaspar, student Honokaa High School, Dean Crivell-Kahihikolo, student Konawaena High School, and Tina Alcain, teacher Konawaena High School), Molokai (Moses Espaniola, Molokai High School), Kauai (Billie Ann Bukoshki, Kauai High School) and Oahu (Jackie Akuna, teacher Leilehua High School and Carina Kusaka, student Leilehua High School). Earlier this year, working with Hawaii’s State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) and other industry partners like HDOA, DOE, UH CTAHR and Ag Leadership Foundation of Hawaii, young FFA leaders were sponsored to attend the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in Washington DC.
