2023 Livestock forage disaster program (lfp)

The Hawaii Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced on April 11, 2023, that producers in Maui County are eligible to receive the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) for 2023.

 

The LFP program provides financial assistance to commercial producers that have livestock being grazed on pasture land. LFP compensates producers suffering from grazing losses for covered livestock due to drought on privately owned or cash-leased land.

Eligible producers:

 

-Producers that own, cash/share lease, or be a contract grower of eligible livestock,

 

-Someone who provides pastureland or grazing land for eligible livestock including cash-rented pastureland or grazing land,

 

-Producers that can certify they have suffered a grazing loss, and

 

-Timely file an acreage report for all grazing land for which a grazing loss is being claimed.

-Fill out CCC-853, Livestock Forage Disaster Program Application

 

-Additional forms may be required, depending on your operation
