2022 Tropical AGTECH CONFERENCE

INAUGURAL TROPICAL AGTECH CONFERENCE HOSTED IN HILO, HAWAII
International conference will gather key global leaders to develop innovative solutions in sustainable tropical agriculture

HILO, Hawaii, March 2, 2022 – Some of the top thought leaders and industry influencers in agricultural technology will be gathering in Hilo, Hawaii to spur innovation and create solutions to the urgent food system problem in the tropics.

The inaugural Tropical AgTech Conference being hosted on the campus of the University of Hawaii at Hilo June 22-23, is an opportunity to develop creative technology-based solutions that increase productivity and efficiency for smallholder farms in the tropics.

The Tropical AgTech conference comes at a critical time to address an urgent problem. Currently approximately 40% of the global population live in the tropics with expectations to reach 50% by 2040. The highest concentration of “hunger” currently exists in these tropical regions. Climate change is already having a negative impact on existing crops, and it is
expected to get worse.

Hawaii can play a critical role in providing solutions around the world as an ideal place for incubating Tropical AgTech ideas and solutions given our climate, the research and development already taking place here, and our island’s unique resources.

Registration at tropagtech.com is open to those who want to be part of the solution to develop innovative solutions in sustainable tropical agriculture.
